As you've already discovered, it's far too limiting.
More to the point, it will be very difficult to gig a TD25 with those 2 outputs. Certainly a TD30 puts you at the leading edge of what Roland offers. I've used a TD10 with vex packs for years and it works just fine, but that's me. When people post questions about edrums, particularly Roland's products, I like to make them aware of a great Roland-centric forum Lots of knowledge and helpful members.Īs someone who has gigged e-drums extensively, I agree with the 2 previous posts, although not so much with the "only real hope is a TD30". In case you are not aware, offers patches for the various Roland modules that will save you countless hours of fiddling with settings and give you an added dimension of sound and enjoyment. You may want to throw down an extra $100 or so and get the 20X, which provides additional samples and functionality. They are going for around $800 or so on eBay. It provides 8 direct outs, and allows you to decide which instrument is fed to which out. I think your only viable option is to get a Roland TD-20. In either case, you are carrying an extra piece of gear around, and configuring it to do all this may be rather daunting, if possible at all. In the latter instance that would mean that you would have to have a digital board or you would be out of luck. You mentioned the use of a computer to trigger samples and run multiple outs to the board, but this would require a hardware interface that would take a digital signal from the computer and translate it into separate audio signals or taking a digital signal from the computer to to the board.
